EPQ is a project that requires you to write a long essay (around 5000) about a certain academic point of your interest. There will usually be someone to help you about the format of the essay and the academic points. During the project, you are to independently research about the topic through various sources e.g. papers, websites, experiements and deduce a result. It does not to be very exciting or challenging, but what is important is its process. At the end you make a short presentation on your project.

Normally, you submit your full essay, recording of presentation and a production log recording your progresses doing this project (and comments/marks from your tutor, that's done by your tutor). All three items are being assesed.
3.
EPQ/IPQ are offered by common exam boards. Please ask your schools.
