I think this will depend on how far away your exams are.
When I was revising for my exams I started off revising one unit per week / fortnight.
Once I had finished revising all of the topics I started revising them together as in the exam they may be combined. Answering exam questions without knowing what topic it specifically came from helped me to develop my knowledge and identify any gaps. I would then go back over my revision resources and create new resources to strengthen my knowledge of weaker topics.
