Should I drop maths or physics alevel

Hi, I’ve just started y13 and I’m really struggling to make a decision between which subject to drop as I currently do four (Maths, Physics, History and English literature). I just got my mock results back and I got an A in physics but a C in maths, (B in the other two) which has worried me a bit. I originally chose my options because I enjoyed physics and thought that maths would be a good match with it, but it’s gotten to the point where I don’t want doing 4 alevels to bring down my overall grade so I want to drop one but im still not completely sure on the career path I want to pursue ( was thinking of studying politics at uni, with maybe a mix of econ) so I don’t want to close off my options. I really enjoy physics though and I feel a bit silly if I drop a subject im predicted an A in to do one I got a C in. I really don’t know what to do bc on one hand it seems pointless and limiting to only do physics alevel without maths( who knows when I might need it) but on the other hand it feels like a risk to carry on with maths in hopes of possibly raising my grade to an A.

I feel your predicament. I read the post and can fully understand. I think if you are settled on doing something not mathematical at university; drop mathematics. You can always pick it up again if time and situations allow it. There's no point messing up your chances of good grades right now though by dropping the Physics (imo)

You kind of needs maths and physics together. Physics is mainly maths, in year 2 I believe there would be more overlap in topics with maths in physics (I could be wrong).

Ultimately you have to look into the future and decide what sort of degree you want to do and what specific job you want to do.

However grades are crucial too espically if you want to go to top unis but I would say worry about the first two things I mentioned above before the grades and then make a decision. Bare in mind that by dropping a subject you will have more time to revise for the others which should in theory improve your grades.

Not sure about EPQs but there could be one for physics maybe so you can do an EPQ and get ucas points.
