What's after uni?

I'm only in year 12 at the moment, but can someone tell me what comes after university. If I get a degree in engineering or veterinary science for example, what happens next? Do I get a job, do I continue studying, do I need to gain work experience before being hireable?
I'd appreciate a quick explanation of the different options available.
Thanks

A lot of engineering degrees have good industry links, and most graduates walk straight into jobs in their area of interest, whether it is research, designing and testing or training. Veterinary science is the same, once you have your degree, there are options of careers for you to enter 🙂
The UCAS website has a good range of information on careers following your areas of interest, I would take a look at the below links.
UCAS Veterinarians
UCAS Engineering

In terms of further studying, this is completely up to you and if you would want to dive straight into further development and qualifications, or return to studies after being in your career. It really depends on your end goal of where you want to be.

After uni, you can continue to study through a Masters and PhD to focus on a particular area of your degree.

You can also go into a job in industry such as an engineering company or a vet clinic.
