My friend has gone missing

My transgender friend has been missing. He has mental health so I'm really worried. The hospital won't do anything and I don't want to get the police involved. Any suggestions?
Is your friend aged eighteen or above, or aged below eighteen?

When you say missing, do you mean not found at home/work/place of study/places usually frequented? Is your friend not responding to emails, phone calls, texts messages etc?

For how long has your friend been out of contact?

Do you have contact details for any other friend or family member who might be in touch with your friend?

If seriously concerned, call the police. If your friend is under eighteen, contact your friend's parents or legal guardians.

He's 24 so over 18 and he has previously been arrested so don't wanna make things worse as this was recently. I mean my friends can't get in touch with him and it's extremely difficult to and when we do he said that he has nowhere to go and is on the street so I'm worried

The fact of a previous arrest has no bearing on police action to seek a missing person or to assist a person whose mental ill health may place him or her in danger.

You say that you can't get in touch, but then that you can get in touch, but with difficulty. If you are in touch with your friend, tell him or her about charities which assist people living rough, and maybe also mention Samaritans.

Do you or anyone you know have a spare bed or sofa you could offer to your friend as an interim measure?

so he's not actually missing, just living on the streets? not sure what to tell you, the police won't do anything if he's not a danger to himself.
but there is this charity for lgbtq+ people dealing with homelessness. since he's under 25, they'd still potentially help him
