Is it worth applying to Oxford?

I want to study Biology at Oxford and have the predicted grades I need to get in, but I did averagely at GCSE. I got 9887776665 and a U in Further Maths.
During GCSE period, i struggled with depression and anxiety (not formally diagnosed) after the passing of my grandfather, and so performed badly compared to my predicted.
Is there anything I can do? Should I not apply?

Sorry to hear about your grandfather. Time will heal all wounds. You know average grades are not good enough for Oxford. Don't waste your time and energy on it. Look for other good universities you can apply to where you have a decent chance of getting in.

gcses only make up a small part of your oxford application. you absolutely still do have a chance to get in. you will probably have to work very hard and get very high a level grades, but it sounds like you’re already very intelligent.

i’m not going to lie to you, your gcse grades might make it a bit harder, but i don’t think they have to stop you entirely

best of luck xx

Thank you for the advice and getting back to me, and i for sure will. Oxford isn’t my number 1, but I’ve already made my p.s and I feel like it was all a waste

Thank you for getting back to me! I’ve been pretty bummed recently because I feel like I have no chance, but I’ll try my best anyway! Thank you again
