Advice on re-applying?

I've started my course studying music in Manchester and it hasn't been great so far (Freshers & the course)
I've changed courses to see if it will better suit my interests but am having regrets as I had a place to study Biology at Sussex, which I withdrew to take my current course.

I'm gonna stick it out anyway because I've paid for the year and I'm hopeful it will get better for me. But I've been considering reapplying for biology due to my current doubts.

I only got CDD at a level and felt extremely lucky to even be accepted to Sussex considering my grades.

I've loved Manchester so far and would enjoy staying here for the duration of my studies, but I don't know if I would even be accepted into any local universities (UoM/MMU) with my grades. On top of that I don't know if any course I applied for would be covered by SFE.

I'd love some advice, whether anyone has been in a similar situation or not. To be honest, I feel too embarrassed to speak to close friends or family about it.

Thanks!

Dont hang about. Call MMU or Salford and see if they will take you to study Biology. Its normal for a few students to change courses and even universities in the first few weeks.

What do you mean when you say you've "paid for the year" and then mention SFE?

Are you self-funding (i.e. paying the fees yourself), and if so how does SFE come into it?

As @mike23mike says, it's not unusual to change courses/universities in the first couple of weeks -- but bear in mind that the deadlines are really tight for this: it tends to be allowed only in the first 2-3 weeks of the academic year as otherwise it's deemed that you'll miss too much to catch up.

You should also check when the liability for tuition fees kicks in -- if you drop out of your existing course sufficiently early (again, this might only be 1-2 weeks in) there may be no liability to pay anything.

Accommodation is a different matter, and you'll need to check what your accommodation contract says.
