Accounting & finance student ( which laptop should I get) ASAP PLEASE :)

Hi,
I’ve just started university, studying Accounting and Finance, and I recently bought an iPad, mainly for note-taking and general use. I was hoping it would help with my studies, but after attending some inductions, I learned that the required software for Accounting and Finance isn’t compatible with iPads, Chromebooks, or tablets—it works best on actual laptops.

I contacted Apple and they said I could return the iPad and switch it for a MacBook. Now, I’m trying to decide whether I should get a MacBook or a Windows laptop, like an HP. I've heard mixed things—especially that some accounting and finance software may not work well on a MacBook.

Since I'm unsure which to get, could you recommend a good laptop for an Accounting and Finance student that can run the necessary software? I also want something that’s good for note-taking. I would appreciate your advice on which type of laptop (MacBook or Windows) would be best, and if you recommend Windows, which model?

I need to make my decision by Thursday, so it would be great to hear back by Wednesday or Thursday.

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Beariee,
Since you are studying Accounting and Finance, I would recommend going for a Windows laptop. Many accounting software programs like Sage, QuickBooks, and even certain finance tools tend to be more compatible with Windows. Plus, Excel (which you’ll likely use a lot) works more smoothly with all its features on Windows. Just make sure to get at least 8GB of RAM for a smooth experience with heavier programs.Good luck with your decision! Let me know if you need more advice

Thank you so much for helping me choose which laptop to get! It really helped me a lot. I just wanted to ask if a MacBook is still a good option if I decide to buy one.
