EPQ advice

I’m taking an EPQ this year, and I’m wondering which is the stronger topic. There is no question of lack of interest in either option, as they are both semi linked topics which interest me. One option is the question ‘Is Vladimir Putin just a modern day Tsar?’, for which I would potentially evaluate former Tsars and their autocracy, ie Ivan the Terrible, Nicholas II. The second is ‘Was the downfall of the Romanov family inevitable?’ for which I would probably evaluate the history of the Romanov family, their popularity, Nicholas II’s terrible autocratic ruling, WW1, etc.
If anyone is interested in any of these topics and has any advice, I’d appreciate it greatly.
Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.

I think the second one is better purely because it’s probably easier to research. Evaluating previous Tsars may not actually help to answer the first question. Just remember your question will most likely change and develop a lot over the course of your EPQ so it doesn’t need to be perfect now.
