The Student Room Group

terminated due to accumulative failure

I've just gotten some news that i may be withdrawn from my course due to accumulative failure of modules. To be honest last year was a really heavy year for me I spoke to a Doctor about it and i was diagnosed with anxiety and stress from last year October. I kept having to go back home during the year due to my family not not having a proper home to stay. We was living in council accommodations and kept having to move. My parents are old so they needed me. I kept this to myself maybe because of my lack of social skills and few friends to confide in. I'm just starting to get back on my feet and facing me mental health and family issues. I really want to stay on this course and achieve something. Do I have a chance for an appeal?

Absolutely, speak to the students union to represent you on appeal. Bring along confirmation medical notes from your doctor and the department will have to reconsider its position. Dont try and tackle this by yourself - thats what your student's union is for.

Hi,

What an awful thing to happen to you - it seems you have had a few problems.
Why don't you maybe wait until you are in better circumstances?
Can you defer your degree and come back to it later? When you are more settled?
If the university rejects your appeal - think about this option - if you are getting a student loan they can stop payments if you leave the course and then continue - but you must tell them.
Good luck 🤞 🍀
