Medicine application

Hello,

I am applying for medicine this year for 2025 entry, but I may want to defer it a year if I get an offer through.
My stats are:
GCSE's: 9999999987
Predicted grades: A*A*A
UCAT: 2730 B2

Currently I'm thinking Exeter as my favourite (not sure if this is too risky), then Plymouth, Cardiff and possibly Oxford or one in London! Do you think I could get an interview from any of the above; any more advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi! Your predicted is strong for Exeter but they have a ranking table check out their website, it could definitely be an aspirational uni if ur other choices are pretty safe
For London have a look and Queen Mary and St George’s ur in the range for their UCAT cut offs but remember with all the other London unis switching to UCAT this year theirs is likely to go down a bit

I think Oxford may be a bit too risky for you
Other than that Plymouth is ok too but it does have a lower interveiw to offer ratio
Also look into ARU, UEA and perhaps Manchester (may be a bit risky though)

Hello, I’m a third year at ARU.

You have a strong application, I would recommend you trying to attend some open days in person or virtually if possible.

ARU is in Chelmsford but about a 30 min train journey from London which makes it in a nice location as you’re close to the city but also in an area that isn’t as busy, and has a lot of green spaces.

Our medical course is very practical from the first year with 1 day a week of practical and anatomy skills as well as a hospital visit a week from November of first year.

If you wanted any information or had any questions please don’t hesitate to ask!

Best of luck with your application
