I don't know what to do , predicted grades 2024 ?

So, I have just gotten my predicted grades back: BCC ( econ, bio, chem). Which, while not terrible, is not great either. I wanted to apply for biochem or Biomed, but that plan seemed go out the window. I was close to a B in bio ( like 1% off ), and for chem, I was 3% off. My teacher advised me not to apply to ABB universities, but honestly, I think I can get an ABB grade if I work harder, I am just not good at exam techniques. What university do you think I should apply to? ( this might be an excuse, but the way that my school predicts grades is super harsh. most people would end up with C&Ds because they don't want to "overpredict")

you can always apply to lower grade requirement universities or courses and if you get ABB you can call clearing lines or take a year out to reapply!

my parent would not allow me to take a year out 😅.( they say it's a waste of money) A lot of people at my school had to take a year out because of how bad our cohort's predicted grades are but I can't.The problem is that I had a A/B in AS chemistry but they refused to predict me this grade because they think I can't handle y13 content ,

how would it waste money? you can find a job for a year and save for when you go to uni.

i’m going through something similar with my school being really with stingy predicted grades, i was also super close to a B in chem. i would say that you have a lot of time to get your head down and get ABB and you can try ask your teachers and make a case of steady progression if you can, or just go through clearing. best of luck

You can still apply for biomed with those grades. Look for the ones who take a UCAS tariff rather than grades.
For example, Oxford Brooks require 104 points which is BCC.
You can try applying for one place that could be BBB as a risk as long as you pick several that are on or below so that you maximise your chances for offers.
You could also look at courses that have a foundation year. For instance, Swansea do a bio med with foundation on CCD and Surrey have one requiring CCC.

You need to knock down that ridiculous argument. As above, you can make a financial profit from a gap year, let alone what you learn from the experience.

Hi! My advice would be to see if you are eligible for and contextual offers for example Lancaster has the Lancaster Access Program which offers a 3 grade drop. Like others have said, clearing is also a good choice, I believe Lancaster's biomed clearing grades were BBC for last year.

Hope that helps!
