Boastful people

It has been affecting my mental health speaking to some people who just brag about all the things they were able to do from an early age. I’m not sure whether to just see it as the person sharing or whether I should disengage from it because it has caused me to spiral and just feel so low within myself and depressed

Hi There

We hear that people who share what they have been able to do from an early age is having an impact on your Mental Health right now. It is important to remember that we are all on our own journey so therefore we move at our own pace. It is also worthwhile noting that Social Media is not always a true reflection of real life so if you need to take a break from screen time then that is okay too 🫶

We encourage you to take a look at the Mind website as they have some really useful tips about supporting your own self-esteem. Whilst having these conversations it may be worthwhile thinking about good self care to make sure that you are taking really good care of yourself too 🛀

You have done really well to use this space to be honest about how you are feeling. If you are feeling like suicide is an option right now then you can call Hopeline247 on 0800 068 4141 or Text us on 88247 to speak with a trained Suicide Prevention Adviser who will be more than happy to help 💟
