I have a question about acetylcholine

So I'm currently studying about the nervous system, and actylcholine came up. The text book says choline and acetate (ethanoic acid) is formed after the hydrolysation of acetylcholine, then the products will diffuse back into the axon for reuse. On the other hand, chatgpt and other sourses said acetate will be used in different places instead of diffusing back into the axon for reuse. So which one is right?

Ps. this is just for curiosity

I believe choline is taken back up into the neuron but acetate diffuses elsewhere to be used in the Kreb's/TCA cycle (according to my Y2 notes on neurotransmitters anyway '^-^)
