Sexuality on UCAS application

There is a section on the UCAS application form titled 'diversity and inclusion'.
I filled this part of the application out months ago in advance, and selected bisexual as I was thinking of coming out of the closet.
However, after submitting my ucas application today and looking back through the details, I had forgotten that I selected this, and as I am indeed still in the closet very much I now wish I would have just put 'prefer not to say' .
Who can see this? Can my head of sixth form/ admissions tutor see this? Can the university admissions people see this? Can future lecturers see this? Will I be treated any differently or given extra resources for this? Also, I don't want to have in the back of my mind that if I get my uni place it's because I'm not straight so I would boost their diversity, rather than on my own merits.
Any information would be appreciated

This is what UCAS say about that section (at https://www.ucas.com/discover/advice-parents-guardians-and-carers/how-fill-ucas-application )

"Diversity and inclusion (UK applicants only) equality monitoring information. Providers only see this information after a place is secured or at the end of the application cycle so it doesn’t influence any decision-making."

I can't help with whether your school can see it -- but I can't imagine why they would need to have access to it.

And I don't know what "providers" (i.e. universities) would do with the information. It would probably be used for statistical purposes, and maybe for wellbeing support.

Bear in mind that data regarding a person's sexuality is considered sensitive personal data and there are tight restrictions on what it is used for.
