Help

I’m in Bournemouth University and my flat mates are all going out tonight and have done since they’ve been here by all means happy days for them,

But I don’t really drink and I’ve never gone clubbing as I only have one hearing ear and need to protect the other, so I’m always at the flat on my own and feel soo lonely!! I find it hard to interact with people and make friends also!!

Like today I asked what everyone was doing and their responses was we’re getting laid tonight so we can get the tally up and saying that I should join if not I’ll be letting the flat down

What should I do in this situation

Go to your doctor and ask if going out clubbing with ear plugs would be suitable for you if that’s the only reason you don’t want to go party. If you just don’t vibe with the general scene, then just don’t go! I am sure your flatmates would understand that you don’t want to risk hearing loss and also don’t like drinking as much. You should still socialize with them and ask them to invite you to more lowkey occasions or you could plan a day out with them yourself! Also there’s no need to be best friends with flatmates, they’re just random people you were assigned to live with. There’s hundreds of other students at your university who also don’t like clubbing and would fit your general style better.

It might be difficult if you’re the only introvert in a group of extroverts and you may all not understand each other at first. But give it some time, you guys will all begin to appreciate what each person’s personality brings to the table.
