My main advice would be to find someone who does understand. Whether its a teacher, a better mark scheme (but most of them are sht) or youtube videos, make sure to find someone to help. Everyone at your school has been thrown in somewhat at the deep end and everyone will hit some sort of sticking point.
I got an A* in my edexcel maths last year and happy to answer any specific maths questions you have.

Tips wise for maths: practice questions and past papers (that's easily the most important thing). In addition, to that watching worked solutions (I'd recommend TLMaths and Exam Solutions on YT) and collaborating with others will be the most useful.
No I don't do chemistry but I do biology. Tbh I don't like it so I've not got much to say about it. Stay on top of the topics. I guess there's two parts to it really: understand the content and understand the exams. You seem very intelligent about how to get help so I wish u luck

Hi! I just stated year 13, and I just wanted to let you know I felt exactly the same at the start if year 12, but it does get easier once you get a bit used to it!
Also one thing that I think lots of people don't realise is that every question does have a worked answer, only it's online!! I wa struggling so much until my fav teacher showed us! You can find the solution bank if you have an online activelearn account with the textbook on. (Our school made everyone an account so it was a bit easier)
If you need any help finding the solution bank let me know!
