Fasting to overcome jet lag flying east

I booked a flight from Europe back to HK on NYE which lands in the morning of 1st January, but I need to go to a youth camp that afternoon. The camp starts just a few hours after I get off the plane, and I will gain seven hours due to the time difference.

There is a fasting prayer campaign before the youth camp starting around 2 months before it and it will last until the night before the camp. Each of us will pick 1-2 fasting sessions per week, typically a single meal, to pray for the camp.

I saw research that a 16 hour fast is able to reset my body clock. As the flight lands at 07:30, and I typically have breakfast around 09:00 in HK, I plan to start a 16 hour fast at 10:00 local time in Amsterdam to pray for the camp, skipping both meals on the plane.

Do you recommend me to do this to fight jet lag? The last time I flew back from Germany, I departed in the late evening, had a stop and landed in HK at midnight, which gave me really bad jet lag.
