Why have you never been employed?

What did you study and what career would you like to pursue?

Why have you never been employed?

Did a foundation course (film/media related) between 2015 - 2016 and didn't like it. Volunteered in film/media related roles from 2016 - 2017, it was unpaid but was fun.

Wanted to find an apprenticeship afterwards but couldn't do so as the foundation course meant I was overqualified for most roles. Became severely depressed after that and I basically couldn't find any jobs at all and was essentially unemployed for three years with a small employment gap (like 6 months) when I worked in a factory.

Went to university in 2020 and ended up with a First, (this was in a film/media related discipline) haven't found anything since and am unemployed almost 12 and a bit months later.

So I guess depression, doing the foundation course, laziness and being very unlucky?

I studied a film/media related degree. Anything at this stage.

So you need to frame your story a little differently and in a more positive light

2015-16 you did a Foundation degree in whatever. (Struggled a bit with) uncertainty around studying v practical experience so
2016-17 you worked in some relevant film/media roles.
Then unfortunately you had some health issues, which meant for long periods you were unable to actively work.
However, you also matured a lot, and realised you absolutely could study effectively, so went back to Uni, studied whatever, and got a first.
Now you are looking to get your first opportunity in .........

That's all you need, what you did and didn't like is irrelevant. Just pull out the relevant bits.

This is really good advice but the problem is that I really did not enjoy the degree course and felt it was a waste of time. I only finished it because I started it and because my parents forced me to do it. I also only completed it because it was something to do. I know this seems awful but it‘s true.

But that doesn't matter. No-one cares what you enjoy, you are being employed for what you can do. You need to tell a positive story, and evidence skills. Enjoyment, happiness, preferences etc are not part of the selection process.
