When should I have my predicted grades by?

I'm a private candidate and setting up mocks for my A levels, when should I have done my mocks and when should I have my predicted grades ready to apply. I'm under the impression that I should have submitted my application for University by the end of December though I know the actual deadline is around the end of January.

The equal consideration deadline is 29 January unless you are applying for Oxbridge, med, dentistry or vet med. So you will need to submit your application leaving enough time for your referee to add the reference with your predicted grades by the January deadline.

You cannot add your own predicted grades.
That has to be done by whoever writes your reference.

As above, unless you are applying for a course that specifically has an October deadline, all other applications that arrive at UCAS before the Jan deadline will get equal consideration. Applying in November/December may mean you get earlier decisions, but it wont make any difference in whether or not you actually get an offer.
