Resitting A-Levels, school says I have to pay £400 for mocks

I am retaking all three of my A-Levels and will be studying privately, I wanted to sit them at my school (since I have access arrangements/extra time that they already have in place). They have contacted me saying I am required to sit mocks according to the JCQ and I will need to pay £400 to do them on top of the cost of resitting. Does anyone else who is retaking/has retaken A-Levels have experience with this or has been in this situation? I wasn't aware there would be an additional cost and that mocks were compulsory as a private student.

your school is taking advantage as i have never heard of taking mocks being required. do some research and ask them if you acc have to do it or maybe tell them how you are struggling financially.

Hi, I’m also resitting all three of my A Levels, what are you resitting? I’m wanting to go to Durham…my school have advised me not to resit all 3 but hey I’m doing it anyways because I really want to go to Durham 😂 I asked my school if I could come in for mocks but they have not so ever mentioned a charge, so you’ll have to look it up as that is so bad.
