Have you considered degree apprenticeship?

Or accounting apprenticeships?

If you want to go into accountancy, unless you’re going for the experience, going to university isn’t the best choice. You’ll have to leave and be worse off.

I appreciate it’s not that easy. You may not get one but look at top 20 accountancy firms they all offer apprenticeships.

My wife did an apprenticeships and she was managing people who left uni after completing and accountancy and finance degree.

Audit is also the best way to learn.

Hi there,

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, applying for apprenticeships - currently the top 10. It is my preferred point of entry, but kinda covering all bases. My parents are also in favour for all the reasons you set out.

I have even thought that if I don't get one this time round, I will take a year out after A levels and re-apply.

I will start to look at the rest of top 20 - thanks for your advice.
