Bangor Medicine 2025

Hi, Does anyone know of the selection process with Bangor? I have a low ucat 2500 SJ2. I wondered whether it would be worth a go?

hey, bangor ranks applicants solely based on the UCAT and are unclear on how they use SJT. They only use a levels and gcses to check you have the minimum requirements. (This process is what I have seen from last year's thread and what admissions told me) so I think it would be risky to apply with 2500 UCAT there. Hope this helps

Hi @msmith2008

We do not have a minimum threshold score; however, we will use UCAT scores as part of our selection process. So yes, I think it's most definitely worth a go

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi, Do you rank soley on ucat? or is a mixture of things? Just trying to see if it is worth applying based on your selection process. Thankyou in advance.

Hi I rang admissions and they said they only use GCSEs and a levels as a ‘tick box’ when shortlisting - they rank applicants solely on ucat so I think it would be risky if you have a lower ucat (even tho it’s new) as they are very vague with the process!

Hi @msmith2008

Please be advised that we do not have a lower UCAT cut off score.

When assessing applications, we will check that an applicant has met our GCSE and A Level requirements and has provided a satisfactory personal statement and reference. Additional checks regarding UK residency, criminal convictions etc are also made at this point. All applicants who satisfy these requirements will be placed in a pool and ranked by UCAT score. Interviews will be offered to those with the highest scores until all slots are filled. Offers are then made solely on interview performance.

Yes they did lol, ignore the date. Believe they’ll send you an email with a link to select a time slot for your interview.

Yes, almost every university will look at your predicted grades.

Actually Cardiff Keele doesn’t… that’s why I was asking if Bangor Medicine looks for predicted grades.
