Have a look at some uni entry requirements for psychology degrees and see what subjects are required. Uniguide is a really good website for this as you can search a course subject and find different unis offering it with their requirements for subjects stated clearly 🙂
Quite a few psychology degrees do require a science A-level (a couple may require two), although there are some which do not

Psychology is often counted as the science you need for degree Psych. Many people go into it without bio/other sciences, so you can definitely get into many places.

Hi there,

No you don't need to! In fact, none of my A-Levels were science A-levels either 🙂 some unis such as Cardiff University, don't require you to have any specific A-Levels, as long as you meet the grade requirements.

Hope that helps!

Hi there!

This will depend which university you are applying to - but it's quite common for Psychology to be accepted in place of a science A-Level. If you want to find out the entry requirements of a university, try searching "Psychology, York St. John" (as an example). This will take you to the course page where you'll be able to find the entry requirements, and this will detail any specific A-Levels that university is looking for.

The course entry requirements part of the page may look something like this - in our case, YSJ just asks for UCAS points rather than for you to have taken particular subjects.

Hope this helps!🤗

Hello,

You need to look at the entry requirements for the universities that you are interested in. Universities are often very different in the accepted subjects and grades that they accept for admission onto the courses, so it's well worth looking around to see what suits your specific A Level choices. If there's any doubt, contact the admissions team at the university and they will be able to advise you too.

Good luck with your application and your university course, if you have any other questions, please, just ask
