STEP Exam for Comp Sci at Oxbridge

I've been looking at the entry requirements and application process for CS at Oxbridge. The Cambridge website mentions the TMUA, but nothing on the STEP, but I've seen a few posts saying that we need to the STEP as well. Is it mandatory or an additional thing that will simply help you stand out?
If it doesn't state STEP is required then it's not and wouldn't be considered.

It may be considered as a bonus, like any other supercurricular, but it would be unlikely to be form part of your offer.

Unless they take it early or are a postqualification applicant I don't know how it would be factored in like that, as its done after A-Levels? Just saying "I'm going yo take STEP" for a course that doesn't require it I think adds little to an application.

Yes, for maths it might be counted as a valid "supercurricular", but for a CompSci applicant it's hard to see what the benefit of taking a maths entrance exam would be! It would be better for the OP to focus on CompSci related activities.
