I completed my A-levels, and on results day I had gotten BBC. This meant that I had missed my offer for Kings. I had decided to take a gap year because I knew my grades were not a reflection of my intelligence, I was simply lazy, and wanted to think about the next steps. I took the UCAT again and got 2780 B2, my GCSE grades are 9999888888.
I have two options:
1) Resit my A-Levels and apply for Dentistry again, however my options are very limited to only Kings, Leeds, and Sheffield. There is Bristol as well but their UCAT cut off is too high so I won’t bother applying. These options are also very risky.
2) Not resit, and apply to foundation year medicine to Leeds, Keele, Bristol, and Bristol Dentistry, as they do not look at personal statements. This is also very risky as they are competitive, but I think due to my GCSE’s and UCAT, and already having achieved BBC, I would have a higher chance compared to applying to the 5 year course.
Also, is there any option where I can apply to the foundation year course, and decide to resit after sending off my UCAS, If I don’t get any interviews/offers?
Any advice would be gladly appreciated
