Newbie guitar advice

I just started playing guitar a couple months ago, I'm two years behind most of my classmates that take guitar courses. Any advice to help me catch up to them faster?

Learn basic Chords like E, A, G blah blah. Another thing is to be able to read tabs, it helps a lot. I suggest training your fingers by pressing hard on the guitar strings too to make sure that it doesn't hurt when playing. Also W Deftones pfp asf

You could follow the playlists that JustinGuitar makes on YouTube. I've found them very helpful in learning the guitar

Get to grips with some scales because the ability to improvise will elevate your playing. Even just learning the minor pentatonic will open a lot of doors.
