Funding 2nd degree independently? Is it possible let alone live there?

I did my first degree at 18 but due to my health didn’t hardly go in and get the grades I needed for masters or pgce. My only option is to finish my first degree which means studying from year one or 2. I don’t mind working to save up but I know I would have to work at least 20 hrs a week at least. But I really want to live in uni accommodation as I never did get the experience. But is it possible to fund a 2nd degree independently and live not at home. I know I would have to work a lot as I have saved none of my grants. I don’t really want to take out a loan as it’s a hell of a lot of money and don’t want to (get one I can’t pay back). I don’t know what to do really any tips or advice would be great. Has anyone paid for their own degree independently without loans and worked a lot of hours alongside?

How many years of previous study do you have? What course would you be doing? Did you take out student loans when you first went to uni?

And, is this for an entirely different subject or not?

I’ve used all 4years up of undergrad. I’d be doing my dance degree. Yes I took out student loans for all four unfortunately.

I suppose it’s possible but would be extremely difficult to balance. Let’s break it down an average degree costs around 9,400 per year so you’ll be paying in monthly instalments around 800 then you’d have your accommodation bills which yes are cheaper but still around 400-500 per month, then you have your food shopping every week, travel to work, phone bill etc so you’d be looking at around 1400-1600 a month meaning you’d have to work pretty much full time alongside doing your degree which is possible but extremely difficult. Have you not thought about doing it part time instead that way it is much more affordable and you could maybe get away with doing around 20-30 hours a week of work?
