can parents force u to study in another country

Baso im applying to medicine first time, didn't do great on UCAT, but ive applied strategically. got in huge argument with parents (immigrants) about my effort given during UCAT prep (my feelings towards med is that its a good career and pleases my parents, im not passionate to do it but idm) after argument they suggested that if i dont get any offers theyll send (forcefully) me to india to study for NEET (indian med entrance exam)

Im happy to go like any uni to study accounting and finance or related courses (e.g. apply through clearing)

Wanted to know can they force me to go india and do med there, if not, what protections do i have (uk citizen) and any suggestions towards my situations
thank uuu
If you are at least at age 18, parents can't force you to do anything. That is the age in which you can make decisions about your life by yourself. Thre is no law in UK that would demand to obey your parents.

do NOT do medicine because your parents want you to. It is a lifelong career and it is only worth pursuing if you deep down want to. I have immigrant parents too, and I still believe that it is YOUR life at the end of the day. Pick something that you want, not your parents. They can’t force you to do anything.
