Can I drop my 3rd A level and just do 2?

I do loads of sport outside of school at what my school would class as ‘an elite athlete’ type of level, I’m also pretty dyslexic and I’m already struggling with 3 A levels (History, sociology and media) Media was not one of my first options but oh well, I want to drop it already as I have no interest in it at all and it’s also in a different building which is way further than where I have my other 2 A levels. If I was able to drop it I’d have Wednesdays off and Fridays which is really helpful as it gives me more time to do my other work along with sport. So, can I in theory drop it now or do I have to wait?

What year are you in?
You could theoretically do two A-levels, and some universities would accept it but you would limit yourself by only doing two. I would speak to a member of staff at your college/sixth form about finding your A-levels difficult because they may be able to give you more support (SEND wise) and you might be given the option to change A-levels.

Schools will usually not allow you to do just 2 A levels because this is not a full-time study load, and therefore they would receive no funding for you. It would also restrict your future options - you need to think carefully about the longer term implications of this.

I’m in year 12 - and the thing with uni is that it’s currently out of the picture due to my sport, thx for the advice

I’ve really thought about it and asked some friends of friends, university would be out of the picture if my sport suddenly gets more intense, I know the longer implications could affect my life but either way it’s not like media is going to change my life either.
