Use of AI

I’ve used AI in my GCSE drama portfolio and I’m not sure whether it’s a problem or not. I used it for some points and might have copied a paragraph, but wrote most of it myself. There’s nothing in the Examiner report about the use of AI in the portfolio, so I don’t know whether I’m allowed to or not. I’ve put it into an AI checker and it’s come back with 83% AI, but I really haven’t used it that much. Any advice on what to do?

Hi @flowers2924

This is a really good question as AI is now being written into assessment briefs for some courses and it is a constantly changing field as AI evolves. Consequently, many people are wondering what they can use AI for and what counts as plagiarism, so well done for asking!

This was not something I had to think about when I did my GCSE in Drama, so I don't envy you.

I would check with the exam board for your GCSE Drama whether that is AQA or someone else whether. You can also speak to your teacher and check what the criteria are before you submit your portfolio. Then if how you have used AI is not allowed you hopefully can alter any bits which you used AI for.

I hope you get an answer quickly! Good luck with your Drama GCSE!
