Hi there ! I am an international applicant hoping to apply to the University of Leicester this year, and noticed how in your admission statistics last year's cutoff to be guaranteed for an interview for overseas students was 57. Is this the cut off in terms of that no one below this was considered or just the competitive score ? Would it be likely to drop this year ? I score 54.5 with the new system so I'm not sure if applying would be too much of a gamble.

Hi, I’m applying for medicine 2025 entry as well. My UCAT score is a 2710 B3 (which is limiting me a bit).
My predicted grades for a levels are A*AA
My GCSE stats are 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 7 7 (the 7s in English and i took triple science)
Im wondering how my chances are for getting an interview for Cardiff because i really love the course structure.

Should be a good chance I suppose, your gcses are quite strong. I'm guessing by looking at your GCSEs grades you aren't a Welsh Applicant?

Unfortunately I can't comment on your chances of interview as I myself am not on the admissions team! Its quite hard to say anyways, as the cut off score, for both your academics and UCAT, depends on the level of competitiveness each year of other students applying. But as long as you meet the minimum requirements, I would always say give it a shot  You seem quite keen on the course anyways, so try to apply and let us know how you get on!

I would also have a look at contextual admissions, just to check if you would be eligible for an offer through that.

But the uni also has a massive document all about medicine admissions here, which has quite a bit of useful info.

Let me know if that helps, and if I can help answer anything else!

Hey there!

I'm a current medical student at UCLan and these are great stats to be going in with! I'd have a look at any extra requirements they might want (e.g. work experience) but this looks great so far!

I hope this helps,

Rebecca, UCLan MBBS
