Physics at Aberdeen

Has anyone done or is currently doing the Physics course (or something similar) at Aberdeen? I'm thinking of applying next year but still unsure. Since Aberdeen seems to focus more on literature and writing-based subjects than sciences, I'm not sure if it's the right place for Physics. I was also considering applying to Heriot-Watt, but the accommodation there seems a bit expensive. Any thoughts?
Have you thought about the University of Aberdeen? You can totally apply for a physics course there, but it really depends on whether you want to stick around in Aberdeen. I’ve heard that Herriot-Watt University is awesome for physics. Do you have the grades you need for the course? Yes, the accommodation there seems a bit expensive and it might be worth checking out some other great universities too, like the University of Glasgow or the University of St Andrews, which aren’t in Aberdeen.
Keep in mind, I'm still in secondary school, so I haven't been through this experience yet.
It sounds like you're weighing your options for studying Physics in Scotland. The University of Aberdeen does offer a range of science courses, including Physics, but it's known more for its strengths in literature and writing. It might be helpful to look into the specific faculty and course structure to see if it aligns with your interests. You could also reach out to current students or alumni for their insights.
Heriot-Watt University has a strong reputation for engineering and physical sciences, which could be beneficial for a focused Physics program. However, accommodation costs there can be a concern, so exploring different housing options or considering living further away from campus might help.
You might also want to consider other universities in Scotland, like the University of Edinburgh or the University of Glasgow, which have strong science programs and might offer a better balance between your interests in Physics and the overall university environment. Ultimately, it's important to choose a university that feels right for you academically and personally. Good luck with your decision!
