i reallly want all nines so im making one of these to motivate myself! my next mocks are in december and i plan on getting only grade sevens and above
my main problems are both englishes and geography and i forgot how to revise sciences but i kind of feel like i know how to improve in the other subjects. any help and advice is extremely welcome. i do ocr sciences btw and in english i do jekyll and hyde, romeo and juliet, aic and power and conflict.
Sciences: cognitoedu.org geography: key words are rlly important (says the a level geography student who got a D in the last mock, and an E before that), quizlet is rlly useful and seneca
Lit: Context (why, when how, so macbeth would be 1507 [idek atp], a few years after gunpowder plot to overthrow the king etc), versatile quotes that can be used literally anywhere. Also know how to unpack a quote - techniques, specific words (adjective, imperative verb etc).
Lang: creative writing
(small tip, for French, the head of languages at my school makes quizlet sets for Edexcel French EDIT I FORGOT THE NAME, SIAFRATE)
RS: seneca
ALSO GRIND PAST PAPERS AND CHECK MARK SCHEMES AND EXAMINERS REPORTS
I forgot how i revised for my mocks but i really want to improve but revision methods that i find online are so confusing and i tend to overthink everything so i really dont know where to start or what to do. in my yr 10 mocks i did ok but i'm aiming for loads of nines but i don't know if its far fetched or anything. here are my mocks bio 7 chem 6 physics 7 eng lang 7 (barely made it) eng lang 7 (barely made it) sociology 5 french 6 textiles 5 (i'm dropping it maybe idk) maths 7 further maths 5 geography 5 (i was a mark from a 4 i don't know where to start since i neglected it since forever) rs 6 my main problems are both englishes and geography and i forgot how to revise sciences but i kind of feel like i know how to improve in the other stuff .
yep defo agree what the previous person said, cognito is a lifesaver for sciences. also using past papers is essential because (especially for bio) the markschemes can be annoyingly specific so its good to learn how to actually answer questions as its not always just about knowing the content, its exam technique
mrs rumsey on yt is great for english in terms of going through and analysing different texts or parts of books, my teacher uses her sometimes. ig the main thing with english is trying to memorise all the bunch of quotes and analysis, and although i dont normally use flashcards i think using them for quotes is useful. you could also try roughly planning out some essays to try and put quotes and stuff into context to help remember it better (so for my yr10 exams english lit we do OMAM so i made a rough essay plan for the two theme options and memorised it, which realllly helped with writing)
sorry im not too sure about geog because i dont take it, but good luck with everything, im sure youre gonna do great
