Aqa gcse spanish

Hi all,

I have aiming for a grade 9 in Spanish, and I believe the only sections that worry me is LISTENING and READING.
I am definitely aiming to learn the AQA GCSE VOCABULARY list in the specification, so this is fine, but will this suffice?
In my end-of-year-10 mocks, I achieved 9999999888, with an 8 in Spanish, meaning I need to improve the two stated strands above!
Any tips will be appreciated! Will learning the spec. vocab suffice?

Thanks!

Firstly, congrats on those mock results. They're great!
As for the actual question - I also did AQA Spanish at GCSE. I personally found doing exam questions really helpful, especially for listening. Doing them can help you get used to the speed that some of the questions are spoken at (some can be very fast and unclear). I also found Duolingo quite useful too, although they speak quite clearly on it so it may not help with listening too much. It's great for learning new vocab though.

For listening, use youtube and watch grwms in spanish to get used to people speaking the language. I think this helped me better at listening more passively but listen to past listening recordings in your ears when your walking to school. While walking try to distinguish whats being said and say it out-loud.

For reading as a minimum you need to know every single word from the general vocab section of the specification. I suggest you use memrise to do this (be quick as the site may shut down at the end of this year). afterwards use anki to learn the theme based vocab, anki is good because it gives you random vocabulary which you probably won’t know. This is important because in reading it only takes you not knowing one word to drop you 1-2 marks.
