Commuting to London

I’ve recently started my uni course and my commute can be 2.5 hours + each way depending on London transport.
(1 bus and 2 trains)
I know it sounds like a lot and im worried I’ll be bored/exhausted of the trip every day since im in 5 days a week but I can’t STAND the thought of accommodation. Not only is it extremely expensive for me but i mentally don’t do very well around no one/nothing I recognise and get very home sick…

Just wondering if anyone in a similar situation has some advice and if I’m doing the right thing. Worried about how I’d feel really but once I get my drivers license it’ll be better.

Thought I’d also add I have done the trip previously and felt pretty fine, I’d get home at around 6pm every day.
I used to go to a college that was 1.5 hours from me each way and was good with it? Hopefully I feel similar about this?

Just realised I put 2.5+ but it can be anywhere between 1.5 - 2.5 + depending on the day

I think it really depends on your level of planning. You would need to also take into account potential issues like bus/train delays, cancellations, weather, etc.

1.5-2.5 hours is a lot each way, meaning you are spending 3-5 hours per day on commute alone. Being in 5 days a week will make that 15-25 hours a week, which can be extremely exhausting. You need to think about whether or not this will impact your focus during sessions at university and your wellbeing. At the end of the day, this is your decision to make and you've mentioned that you are working on getting a driving license.

In terms of making the most of your commute time, you can try to plan that time with completing productive tasks like reviewing lecture work, admin tasks, etc.
