Well... I can give you some insight if you wish, mainly due to me being on the second year now!

As I was among the first group of students to enter the new IMB (ITMB - As known at other uni's), there were some obvious teething problems, some complaints were made about the level of IT in the first year of the course.

Moving into the second year though, it seems to be moving towards business theory and practical tasks such as consultancy group roles, group reports etc.

I can say that when joining the course you will get a fairly good experience, as many things are being changed and I am on the committee for the IMB course, failings and improvements have been made clear since we started the course in 2007.

The only issue many of us have at the moment, is the lack of options! We only get to choose options or rather "An option" in our final year, but we are hassling them to allow us two choices.

In terms of employment, a few on our course have secured internships for summer 09, one of them in Barcap, but obviously it is still early to receive concrete offers, but many have got through various stages so far for Deloitte, P&G and various banking firms.

If you have any other questions etc, drop me a line.

Rob
hey I had an offer for this last year but didnt meet the grades on results day. I think its a decent course you will get lots of jobs with this because its at UCL. Its not a doss degree

Then i got a letter from UCL in December which said that they would be inviting me for an interview-but I still haven't heard anything:s-smilie:

Don't worry -i dont think we've been unsuccessful, though i do expect them to send us our interview dates soon, seeing as the january 15th UCAS deadline has passed.

Lol, do you honestly think they would send you interview letters and reject you?:P
Just be patient, UCL interview a lot of people - and afaik the interview for this course is an open day/informal interview so theyre probably waiting on giving out all of their offers before organising anything first.

Do you know anyone that's been given an actual interview date? I hope they get back to us some time soon!

What as-levels did u guys do?
Reply 14
Don't think anyones been given interview dates as of yet
Economics/English Lit/History/Business - wbu?

Yep, I've heard about other people who have also received similar letters... I'm hoping the reason I haven't received mine is that I'm an international! *hopes*.

OP: I also think that for this particular course especially, an interview invitation (even without the dates) strongly suggests an offer to come

I didn't do A-Levels (or AS) but I did IB. If you're curious I did the following at Higher Level (one HL is roughly equivalent to one subject at A level):

Chemistry, English, French and History

How about a Facebook group for UCL ITMB 2009 entry?

From what i heard its not exactly Oxbridge interviews lol. Walk around the campus speak to the tutors ask your questions. Maybe a few questions on their behalf to see your interest in the course

Are they likely to have made up their mind pretty much before hand?
