A Level NEA Coasts

I'm doing my Geography NEA, "Investigating the littoral zone at Hengistbury Head" and one of my primary data collections is going to be Sediment Size at three different sites along that stretch of coast. The sub question this would be answering is "How does sediment size, shape, and angularity vary across the Hengistbury Head coastline?". How exactly do I collect the samples for each site? I'm not sure if I should do systematic or random and if I do random then how would I carry this out?

I think you should do random sampling at each site. I had people in my class who did this and this is how they did it: use a random number generator (from like 1 to 10), do a lil spin in a circle pointing forwards eyes closed, when you stop count forwards whatever number you got from the generator on the rocks and then measure. Turned out they couldn't actually do this for most of them because it was mostly sand so they just put down 'silt' for the size. Hope thus helps good luck xx
