Cambridge at engineering

Can I get into engineering at Cambridge without further maths?
You can, particularly if your school / college doesn't offer it, but it may be worth taking it, even to AS, if you are able to. It may be worth noting that 96% of Cambridge Engineering students from 2018, 2019 and 2023 combined had A-Level Further Maths (this doesn't count those who had it to AS only) and some colleges (Christ’s, Churchill, Clare, Lucy Cavendish and Sidney Sussex) now require it.

Generally speaking 5% is a loose rule of thumb for something being statistically significant, so pretty much only in fringe cases do students without FM get accepted.

The answer is yes, but in one of the most competitive applications pools you have to really stand out elsewhere in the application process.

The easiest way to guarantee not getting in, is not applying but if you applied without FM i really would be viewing that application as a long shot (id also go to an open day and directly discuss this topic with engineering admissions staff).
