There was a 6 week period when you could've swapped courses but family was too proud i got on the course n thought I wanted to move because it seems difficult.

Has the six week period now passed? If so, that must mean that you started the course in mid-August - which seems unlikely.

Is it the course you dislike, or the college itself? What is it you dislike about the course / college?

It is over this week. The course itself is fine but we weren't told until this week that taking this course means we can only go into the colleges associated uni and that we would need all d* to even do that

What do you mean by "colleges associated uni" What university is associated with the college?

Is the qualification you're studying towards an actual BTEC qualification, or just something a bit like a BTEC? If it's a genuine BTEC then you can use it to apply to the vast majority of unis.

The collages university center. It's a btec but the maximum ucas points you can get from it is I think around 100 and most unis seem to want around 140

OK. It sounds like you might be doing a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma, which is the equivalent of just two A levels. The maximum UCAS points that can get you is 112, and that's for D*D*, which is a big ask.

Although you're right that most universities will want to see you having done the equivalent of three A levels, don't be trapped into thinking that you have no choice but to go to the university centre attached to the college. If it's a BTEC, you can go elsewhere with it.

Let's suppose you don't manage to reach the dizzy heights of D*D*, but come away with a respectable DM. That's worth 80 UCAS points. That'd meet the entry requirements for Biomedical Science with a Foundation Year at University of Suffolk, or Nursing - Adult at Birmingham City University (in Clearing, down from the usual 120 points), or Acting for Stage and Screen with a Foundation Year at University of West London.

I realise we're not exactly talking the crème de la crème of universities here, but at least you have a choice rather than feeling compelled to go to one specific university centre.

I see. Thank you!
