Will my A level grades come back to bite me in the job market?

I got bbb in bio chem and maths and am now studying chemistry at a russell group uni. My GCSES were mainly 9's and 8's with a couple of 7's. I heard about how some grad schemes are really hard to get into especially for big accounting firms which I was interested in. Will this greatly disadvantage me?

It will disadvantage you, yes. The degree by which it does so is difficult to estimate.

What is curious, however, is that you're studying a chemistry degree, despite being interested in grad schemes at big accounting firms. Was there a reason you didn't opt for a more relevant degree, if accounting is where you career aspirations lie?
BBB is not the end of the world. Chemistry is a good quants subject that will get you in with a shout at a top accountancy firm.

The business and economics students at your uni will have been told to already start applying for summer internships in accountancy firms. Unfortunately the STEM subject students won't be told. Go to your careers centre at the uni and and ask to be put on the distribution list of all firms seeking summer placements. Worse comes to worse, use your friends and family and their networks to blag a free week or two in an accountancy firm. It will really make your CV standout.
