Applying to study Maths at Imperial/UCL but don't have Science practical endorsement

My son did his A levels this summer but decided to take a year out. He is planning to apply to study Maths at Imperial/UCL in 2025. Unfortunately when he did his A levels he didn't complete the Science Practical Endorsement. We think he can do just the Science Practical Endorsement privately but we're confused as to whether this will constitute a resit of the exam as both Imperial & UCL don't allow resits? Does anyone know before we try and contact them?

He needs to email the Unis and ask if they insist on the practical endorsement - some Unis don't require it.

Yeah true they need to email UCL admissions to double check as their website doesn’t state it explicitly, however, Imperial’s website states for mathematics (BSc) requires students to pass practical endorsement (OP probably already knows this). I think it would constitute a resit considering I’m assuming he failed at college the practical endorsement? Or did they not do it? I’m confused as to why he doesn’t have it. Regardless, u (OP) should email both university’s admissions department in order to further clarify.
