Well you can apply without a maths a level to quite a handful of unis like Nottingham and leeds. They have gcse maths requirements and usually allow CS alevel over math. But,CS is a math degree when it comes to the theory therefore most unis require maths a level and some(oxbridge) require fm.So yeah you would need a high level of math for CS degrees especially the ones that require a level math. If you are looking for a more practical(more coding) tech degree, software engineering is probs your best bet.

If a uni only requires maths GCSE, then all maths above GCSE that is needed for the course should be taught on the course. So to try to answer your question, you could have successful applications to a uni that doesn't require maths, but your level of maths skill will not remain at GCSE for the duration of your course as you will learn more advanced skills in your degree.
Hi there it does entirely depend on the university and what they're asking for if it only requires GCSE Maths then that is what it will be. However, most might have CS as an A-Level requirement. If you're in the process of applying for university then I would recommend researching the entry requirements as they do differ.

I hope this is helpful.
