Special support loan

I am currently entitled to LCWRA and PIP and was wondering how I would go about getting the special support loan or if that was automatically added to your maintenance loan when applying for student finance?

You would have indicated on your application that you wanted to apply for the Special Support Loan. Have we requested any evidence or have you sent in any evidence of your PIP?

Hi there. You would have been asked about this on the applicaiton and if you indicated Yes to one of the criteria, then you would be asked to upload evidence of your PIP etc. Thanks, Leah.

Yeah I have done that and uploaded the evidence. I am currently unemployed and living in supported housing outside london and was expecting the full amount of maintenance loan but seems like I’ve only been aware around £7800

Will the figures on my entitlement summary be the amounts I will be getting? Can I appeal the figures at all

Hi there,

We will re-assess your entitlement for the Special Support Loan If you have applied for the maximum loan and provided all the evidence required to assess you for the higher rate of Maintenance Loan then you cannot appeal that as we will have assessed your fully.
