Does anyone else feel like they were meant for something more?

Currently in y13 and I'm aiming to become a mental health nurse. Whilst I've always known that I wanted to work in psychology/mental health, I feel like I was meant for something more. Not to be egotistical or anything but I feel like I should have aimed for a harder career path like medicine. I feel like I'm doing a disservice to myself by being a mental health Nurse. I've always been interested in a therapist type of role but idk. Maybe I'm just scared of the work hours idk I can't even explain myself 😭

So why not apply for one or two Medicine courses in your UCAS application, alongside whatever courses you were planning to apply for, just to see what happens?

Or apply for a Psychology degree, with the ultimate aim of becoming a Clinical Psychologist? (That's a long journey by the way, with a doctorate required after your undergraduate degree.)

Thanku for responding!! 😭🫶🏽 i was thinking about clinical psychology but i heard it takes like 7-8 years in education which is too long for me but thankyou
No, quite the opposite. I feel like I am where I am because of luck and flukes, not because I'm good enough to be where I am. I agree with the above - apply for medicine if you are serious about it and if it doesn't work out, I would imagine nursing would still be an option though clearing.
