Nuclear Graduates 2025 applications

Hi All, I’m making this thread for anyone applying to the Nuclear Graduate Scheme 2025 which has just launched. There were a lot of us last year who applied some successful and many of us not. See the thread here:

https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6791554&p=99904861&page=15#post99904861

I thought this could be a place for anyone to share tips, email responses, application outcomes, interview questions, interview dates, assessments etc. The scheme in 2024 was a little chaotic with many of us waiting 2 months rather than 2 weeks to receive responses, sponsors backing out, 500 of us being at an assessment centre (how they assess we still don’t know xD) for 37-100 roles no idea about that either and with the competition being fierce.

Many of us met at the assessment centre and had not been interviewed and some have it was chaotic, to say the least. According to some members on last year’s thread apparently, this year should be smoother and I can already see on the website that some disciplines have listed the sponsor but I still can’t see much information.

Anyway for a lot of us especially those that got rejected, it was just nice hearing we’re in the same boat and also finding out that some people had already recieved offers so essentially they were just delaying telling us we were rejected and keeping the hope haha, whilst also sharing other nuclear related jobs etc. So I thought i’d make another thread just for the 2025 applications.

Good Luck to us ALL, would be great to speak below for all things nuclear! and some things not haha. I plan on sending my application of this week so it would be great to hear from anyone else applying.

which scheme are you applying for?
Are we supposed to apply to NDA and Nuclear Graduates, seems like they are the same roles?

I haven't applied or chosen a discipline yet. Both NDA and Nuclear graduates are different (its on their website). They are similar in the sense you do 3 jobs I believe but NDA naturally everything you do is within decomissioning whearas with nuclear graduates you have more options and more perks but it's more competitive.

I haven't applied yet but i know within nuclear graduates theres an button you can tick to be considered for NDA too but you can send off applications in either. The NDA also run nuclear graduates so they are similar. I've spoken to someone on the NDA grad scheme and they said nuclear graduates is better, but both are fantastic and a job is a job at the end of the day.

Okk it just seemed a bit weird as both the application forms are the exact same

Makes sense it's run by the same people, last year on nuclear grads all you had to do was tick an box to also be considered for NDA so you didn't need to apply twice but they are different schemes.

I've just seen the application form now it's very different to last year, they asked questions such as why the nuclear graduate scheme, and other questions they have none of that now. They ask for grades which they didn't before so they will screen some people out just with that.

There's no button also to also be considered for NDA so I guess you have to do them separately.

Once you submit the application it says to keep those kind of questions in mind. I assume they will be asked in the next stage.

Ahh interesting! I'm still updating my CV and cover letter which they also don't ask for 😲

Nice! I've attached the link to the old thread for last year, you could read that if you really wanted too it's pretty much documented a lot of peoples experiences ahah although this year they seemed to be more organised. I can answer some questions if you want but it's on their website and all standard stuff. Interview if you get one isn't technical unless it changes but you'll have to research the scheme etc and what you might want to do. It seems like they'll have an asyncronous video innterview this year so that'll probably be covered there. The assessment centre is a massive bunch of people like 500 fighting for 30 jobs or more i have no idea. i heard ranges from 30-50-120 jobs sooo lol. You just do tasks such as working in small and large groups and some individual tasks and then chat to people in stalls lol whilst you wait.

good luck! if anyone else hears anything after completing the neurosight assessment please message on here!
