Yeah, got into my firm choice! Though having my 4th subject Physics - remark, Physics this year was a bit of a nightmare - just too many errata yet OCR exam board did nothing to remedy their error!

Huge congratulations!! You've been a super star and so hard working :yep:

Sorry to hear that @Jacqui79, I'm having my Physics paper remark too - it was a bit of a disaster from OCR to be honest.
Stay firm, brave the wind - you will be stronger tomorrow!

Thanks Jon Neuroscience seems a long way into medicine additional 3 years but only option I think

Hello everyone, long time no see!
I got my results today - A*A*AA so I'm off to Oxford in the Autumn. I'm so happy about that!! (My school wants to contest one of the As because I have a low mark in one paper and much much higher in the other 2, but I'm honestly not too bothered because I'm just so pleased to have met my Oxford offer!)
I hope results day went well for all of you xx
We all worked so hard and you all deserve amazing results!

Well done

Hello everyone long time no post!
I just wanted to share some wonderful news and offer a heartfelt thank you to this amazing community.
It’s been just shy of a year since I joined TSR, around the time my darling daughter sat the UCAT. She had a bit of a wobble on the day and scored 2480 (Band 3), which left us feeling disheartened especially as she had been hoping to apply to Oxford.
With careful strategic application planning, shaped massively by this forum, we submitted Oxford as an aspirational choice alongside Exeter, Leicester, and Queen’s University Belfast. She was fortunate to be invited to interviews at Leicester and Queen’s and, after a long wait, we’re absolutely over the moon that she has now secured a place at her first-choice Leicester, with A-levels of A*A*A*A.

A huge thank you to the incredible contributors who helped guide us through this journey: @MedMama @jonjon6 @GANFYD , and many others. Your advice on personal statements, interview prep, MMI tips, and general encouragement was invaluable. A special thank you to @jonjon6 for your above-and-beyond kindness during the UCAT wobble your support truly lifted her spirits.

We’ve also been following others’ journeys closely such as @eagleflight and your recommendation of MMI Interview prep book by Dr Vasu congratulations to you too!
There are also many others I’ve interacted with on the forum getting advice, chatting about interview prep and comparing notes with others shortlisted at the same universities. I’m sorry I haven’t named everyone individually, but I’m just as grateful to you all. I hope you’ve also secured your first choices and are celebrating too.

For those who haven’t had the news they hoped for, I’m truly sorry but please don’t give up. As many have said, sometimes this journey takes two years or rounds of applying for under grad or the post grad route.

As a general practitioner working border of South Warwickshire and North Oxfordshire, we regularly hosted students from nearby med schools many of whom have taken different routes into medicine, whether through the traditional undergraduate path or the graduate entry course. They all go on to be excellent doctors. There is more than one route into this profession and it’s worth it.
I’ve been a doctor for 25 years now and can honestly say medicine is the most rewarding career. DD now begins her own journey, and I couldn't be prouder.
I do have one small regret I wish I’d found this forum sooner than 2024, as I would’ve had more time to get to know all the wonderful people on here. But hey-ho… my younger daughter will be going through the same process in three years’ time, so in the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger I’ll be back.
Warmest wishes to all, from a very proud an relieved dad.

Lost my offer at kings got A*AB B in physics after the OCR 6 errors in the exam
Paper offered neuroscience instead

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this! All the best for your neuroscience degree if you choose to go down that route, otherwise it might be worth taking a gap year to resit a subject and reapply. I’m studying med at King’s after taking a gap year albeit under different circumstances, but there are plenty of us around and we all had good experiences during our gap years. In fact, they probably made us better med students once we started and it was nice to have a break from studying too

I’m not so poetic and descriptive but I absolutely second this. My daughter got A*A*A yesterday and her first choice of UEA. The relief was overwhelming. It’s been an arduous journey, with so many emotional ups and downs (and that’s just me!)
I’m far from convinced this would’ve happened without the advice and support of you TSR medicine gods and the other people in similar situations. I’m going to call out KA_P too for being very kind and supportive when I had a major wobbly at one point around Xmas time. Massive and genuine thanks to you all

Am so darn proud of your support for your DD throughout this epic journey that was filled with nothing but stress! Me dad said to me last evening while we were out for a meal:

"What you make of yourself help defines the path ahead. But definition does not always give you a logical path. Just face the journey and fight it" - it's me dads techie background philosophy I guess.

That Medicine Interview book was recommended to me by a medical student at I think the Bristol open day! I'm glad it was a useful recommendation!
