Socialising

I'm an international student at chester and don't really like hanging around with a crowd. Would you suggest some places in chester that I could go and find some good people to be friends with?

Hi,
I'm also an international student at Chester, and you might be overestimating how many people go to the social events. I've been to a few of the events (such as the Activity Camp activities like badminton and tennis, which you can book on Playwaze) and there are normally only about 10 people there. If that's still daunting for you, I honestly think your best bet is to just talk to people you sit next to in lectures. Or if you want you can click on my profile and contact me---I have some info in my bio as well.

Hi there,

Have you contacted any societies? We have a huge variety of clubs and societies and the number of members varies a lot, so some of the smaller ones may be of interest to you. You can find a list of them here - https://www.chestersu.com/groups.

As @LeeJ9 suggested below, some of our Active Campus activities are limited in numbers to make them more enjoyable. You can find information here - https://www.chester.ac.uk/student-life/sport-and-active-lifestyle/active-campus/

We'd recommend looking at events here as you may find some smaller, casual events to attend - https://shoutout.chester.ac.uk/events/. This is a good example of a small event which you may be interested in and can meet other people - https://shoutout.chester.ac.uk/events/global-grub-and-gather/

Best wishes,
Becky
