Do GCSEs matter for the university of Warwick?

I want to study psychology/neuroscience for university of Warwick but I got mainly grade 7s and 6s with a 5 and a D2*. With A/A* A-levels can I get in or is this university too competitive?

As long as you meet the minimum GCSE requirements, you'll be fine. For Psychology at Warwick those are stated here as:

"You also need grade B or 6 in GCSE Mathematics or Statistics. Applicants not studying Biology, Chemistry or Physics at A-Level are expected to have obtained grades 6,6 or B,B in two science subjects (Biology, Chemistry or Physics) or double science at GCSE."

The general GCSE requirements also apply:

"Unless specified differently above, you will also need a minimum of GCSE grade 4 or C (or an equivalent qualification) in English Language and either Mathematics or a Science subject."

For Neuroscience, the general GCSE requirements still apply, by the course-specific ones change. They are stated here as:

"Applicants who are not taking Chemistry at A Level must have grade B/6 in GCSE Chemistry or grades BB/66 in GCSE Combined Science."

I have seen the minimum entry requirements and I do pass it however I am not sure if I have a good chance of getting into it as my GCSE grades are mid. It's like the University of Oxford, it says all you need is a minimum grade 4 for most subjects to apply however, because of the strong competition only people with grade 8s and 9s have a chance of getting in. I don't want to waste one of my choices if I am not likely to get in or does the University of Warwick not care about GCSE grades as much?

With all due to respect to Warwick, it is not Oxford.

UCAS say that, according to 2019-2023 data, they make offers to 4 out of every 5 Psychology applicants. (source)
