Is studying architecture possible with BBD?

Predicted BBD with a D in physics, is it possible to get any offers from any universities? I already have many illustrations and examples of past work for a portfolio but I'm more concerned if my predicted grades are even high enough to get a place.
Any help is appreciated xx

It's worth applying to some of the 'points' unis - those unis that state their entry requirements in terms of UCAS points rather than A level grades. You could put in an aspirational choice or two around 112-120 UCAS points (BBB/BBC) first, wait to see if you get any offers and the conditions of your offer, and then apply to other choices around your predicted grades by the January deadline.

Have a look at the following thread for a list of unis and their entry requirements for architecture (but do check the entry requirements on uni websites too as they might have changed since the table was created):

it is possible, discussions can always be had, but it is worth looking for universities with lower grade boundaries. I am currently studying architecture going into my second year and I got in to my first choice. I had CCD and they gave me an unconditional offer just from my portfolio alone. So I suggest if you are worried about grades make sure your portfolio is the best it can be. hope this helps xx

Hi there!

At the University of Nottingham, we will consider Architecture applications from students whose predicted grades don't match our entry requirements.

We understand that predicted grades are an imperfect system. Instead, we are more interested in your portfolio, personal statement, GCSEs and the subjects you have chosen at A-Level.

Hope this helps!

hi! may i ask whay final A-levels grades you got? I currently hold a conditional offer from UCL for Msci architecture but i missed my grades. I will still try and contact them but i'm unsure of the outcome.

Hi,
I would highly recommend researching potential courses at a variety of different universities across the country and looking at there individual grade requirements as these will say exactly what grades you should aim to achieve, also make sure to look at Foundation years as these can provide a good boost up into university degrees if you fall slightly short of the requirements in your A levels. Also just before exam results day make sure to investigate any potential clearing courses as these have lower boundaries for entry yet provide the same level of academic education and qualification.

Hope this helps and best of luck
